What is Wave Dancing?

I am sure that anyone who has come across this blog is curious as to what I mean by Dancing on Waves. I will do my best to explain.

I first came across the phrase "dance on top of the ocean waves" while I was reading "It's Your Time " by Joel Osteen (2009 Free Press). He is describing a rowboat "a very nice boat made to dance on top of the ocean waves..." (pg. 15) and my mind's eye envisioned a rowboat blithely bouncing on one wave after another. It got me to thinking.

I thought to myself, life is like the waves. Sometimes the waves are calm and everything floats on along peacefully. Sometimes the waves are big. Sometimes they are scary. Just like life.

Which makes me the rowboat. I am a beautiful (I upgraded myself from "very nice") rowboat made to dance on top of the waves. I should view the ups and the downs of life as waves, and just dance on top of them.

So this blog will be about my beautiful rowboat's ability to dance on the waves of life. I am sure there will be times when I will take on a little water and times of peaceful tranquility. My challenge will be to keep the peace within while the storm rages without.
